An Inter-University Design Charrette organized by Queen’s University, Belfast, EMU Faculty of Architecture & URDC

URDC, in collaboration with EMU Faculty of Architecture and Queen's University Faculty of Architecture and Planning, has organized a one-day design charrette on 11 April. In this context, 27 graduate students from Queens University, 8 graduate students from EMU Faculty of Architecture, and 2 students from GAU have prepared conceptual projects that may guide the possible re-unification scenarios for the city of Lefkoşa (Nicosia). The project teams were leaded by Dr. Karim Hadjri, Dr. Alan Jones, David Allardyce from Queen's University, Dr. Derya Oktay, Dr. Naciye Doratlı, Dr. Şebnem Hoşkara, Dr. Mukaddes Faslı, Dr. Beril Özmen Mayer and Dr. Fevzi Özersay from EMU, and Dr. Hassina Nafa from GAU. The proposals were presented to all members of Faculty of Architecture in the end of the intensive workshop, in the form of a review session. The fruitful event has been highly appreciated by all participants, and the visitinggroup from the UK expressed their wishes to keep in touch for further collaborations.
